Active-Duty Soldier From Kentucky Charged With Sexual Abuse In PA

A soldier originally from Kentucky has been extradited to Pennsylvania on sexual abuse of children charges, according to a release by Northwest Regional Police.

Ian Christopher Jones, 20, is an active-duty soldier from Fort Polk, Louisiana who was charged in connection with a complaint of a man having on-going contact with a 13-year-old girl from Mount Joy Township, Lancaster County using social media filed in July, according to a release by police and court documents.

He asked the girl to send him sexually explicit photos and video, knowing her age, according to the release.

Jones was arrested and extradited to Pennsylvania with the help of the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Division, on Oct. 27, according to the release.

He has been charged with the following, according to his court docket:

  • F2 Statutory Sexual Assault: 4-8 Years Older
  • F2 Photograph/Film/Depict on Computer Sex Act -Knowingly Depicts on Computer, Photo, etc
  • F3 Criminal Use Of Communication Facility
  • M1 Corruption of Minors
  • M2 Indecent Assault Person Less 16 Years Age

Jones has been held in the Lancaster County Prison in lieu of $100,000 bail, according to the release and his court docket.

His preliminary hearing has been scheduled with Magisterial District Judge Randall L. Miller on Nov. 18 at 11 a.m., according to his court docket.
